COBI'S DEATH : Pissed Of XXV! : An Interview
Niš, Serbia, February 3.
I'm interviewing Gary Bramil from the band Cobi's Death. We're talking about the release of the new single 'Pissed Of XXV!' ~
Ena: Dear Sir, thank you for your time for our radio and website.
Gary: Thank you for your interest. You have a really good taste in the music . Respect.
E: You are welcome. Can you tell us something about your new release which, by the way, has also appeared on all Major Streaming Platforms.
G: That's right, on the same day as the official video with lyrics. As for the complete audio single, it lasts less than 25 minutes and contains both the album version track and 7 remixes of the title track of the single.
E: If I may say, it reminded me of eighties and maxi single vinyls, where there are also remixes and extended versions. Was that the goal?
G: Absolutely, it is deliberately so, in imitation of the maxi singles of the eighties. I, personally, enjoy and own those editions. Honestly, that idea has been in my head for a long time.
E: Didn't you have something similar with the album 'Remixed Liturgy' last year?
G: That's right. It was, in fact, a very nice introduction to what is yet to come
E: And is there a new album coming up?
G: Of course, but not this year.
E: No? I noticed that it is called 'Lex Specialis'. Interesting album title, especially at this point. Where did that come from?
G: The working title of the album was 'I Am God', after one of the songs, but during the month of October last year, me and Nelle finalized the new title of the album.
E: You mention Nelle. How did the renewal of cooperation come about?
G: Nelle has always been there, that's a fact, from the very beginning. Before performing at Slaughter Festival, where we presented new versions of songs from the album Day Star, Nelle guested vocally on a couple of songs, although he has always been there.
E: Can we compare it with Ivan Novak and the band Laibach? He is everywhere, except on stage.
G: That is not the case here, but it is similar.
E: You love Laibach?
G: Yes, we have been following their work since the album 'Opus Dei'.
E: Awesome. Let's go back to your single. What is he saying?
G: A very simple message: When something looks bad to you, and you are pissed off because of that - change it! Now!
E: You mean the system?
G: That's right, actually this is anti-system.
E: It is a very interesting video, with the lyrics of the song.
G: Yes, Nelle did it masterfully. With that, we expressed our support for smart children and their fight for a better tomorrow.
E: Support system change?
G: Always! And, at the end of the video is our invitation, everything is written there.
E: Do you believe that with the change of government will come the appreciation of good music?
G: That is debatable. It is important that new media editors come with the change, while the old ones are held accountable, because they are the accomplices and leaders of the clans on the music scene which led to downfall of all cultural values.
E: I agree with that too. What would you tell me about further plans?
G: Nothing, honestly. Follow on all networks so you can be the first find out about our new projects.
E: Thank you for the conversation. Good luck with the new release.
G: Thank you. Visit linktr.ee/garybramil Support Cobi's Death and Students.
